GNM, which stands for General Nursing Midwifery, is a comprehensive diploma course in the nursing field, spanning three and a half years. ELIGIBILITY
The eligibility criteria for the West Bengal GNM Nursing program have been established by the conducting body in conjunction with the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Here are the key criteria:
Age Requirements:
- Candidates must have successfully completed Class 12 from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any recognized Council/Board.
- A minimum aggregate score of 40 percent is required.
Nationality and Residency:
- Candidates should be Indian nationals.
- They must be permanent residents of the District of West Bengal.
Language Proficiency:
- Proficiency in the Bengali or Nepali language is essential. Candidates should be able to read, write, and speak in either of these languages.
Special Consideration:
- Students with a background in Vocational Agriculture or Vocational Home Science are also eligible to apply.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Application Submission:
- Prospective nursing students are required to initiate the application process, which can be done either online or through offline means.
- Issue of Admit Cards :
- Upon successful submission of the application forms, applicants must download their admit cards. These are crucial for gaining entry to the examination.
- Appear for the Entrance Exam:
- Participation in the entrance examination is a mandatory step in the admission process.
- Result Announcement:
- Subsequent to the successful completion of the entrance examination, the competent authority will announce the results based on the candidate's performance.
- Release of Cut off List:
- After releasing the results, the conducting body will also publish the cut-off list. This list specifies the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to meet to secure admission.
- Counselling:
- Based on the merit list, the counseling process for GNM Nursing will be carried out. This phase helps match students with their preferred colleges.
- Seat Allotment:
- Seats will be allocated to candidates based on the outcomes of the counseling process and their individual scores. This ensures that students secure admission in the colleges of their choice.
